Sports Illustrated is the leading sports magazine sold
at news stands across the country. Its coverage extends
to a wide array of sporting events. From baseball to
hockey, from Nascar to the PGA Tour... Sports
Illustrated covers it all. Now, with the Olympics just
barely underway, the coverage will increase to bring us
the latest news on each country's achievements.
In each week's issue there's a section entitled "Letters
to SI". Here readers are given the opportunity to
express their opinions about the articles of the past
few weeks. Some reactions are positive and some are
negative. Different opinions are published without bias. |
|
There's a "Highlights"
section that tells about the up and coming sporting
events for the new week ahead that should not be missed.
This section gives readers the low down on who's going
to impact what game and what station will be
broadcasting this event along with the time that it will
take place.
One of my favorite sections is "Faces in the Crowd".
Here SI recognizes the outstanding achievements of
different athletes that are not in the spotlight on a
regular basis. Many of these athletes are senior
citizens or people too young to compete professionally.
Some of these "Faces in the Crowd have gone on to
perform superbly at higher levels of competition. |

The articles in Sports
Illustrated are usually very in depth and often include
player or coach interviews, pictures, and statistics to
support the writer's point of view. At the end of each
issue, Senior Writer, Rick Reilly offers his opinions on
influential people in sports or some controversial
sporting event. His writing is very vivid and humorous.
It's a great way to end a great magazine each week! |

I have had a subscription
to Sports Illustrated for the last ten years. I often
get one or more subscriptions during the year. I usually
read the entire magazine. If you have a sports fan in
your house, try this out on them. I think they'll be
pleased!!! If you have a young sports fan, try Sports
Illustrated for Kids. |
