5 out of 5: SI is
still the best!
G. Reid, January 13, 2005
Always a can't-miss gift for sports fans and fun to
enjoy for yourself, Sports Illustrated is still the most
comprehensive sports mag on the market. With coverage
from the most popular sports like football and
basketball to the X-Games, there's something for
everyone. The Olympic issues are not to be missed, and
of course the guys love the annual swimsuit issue. If
you can't watch on tv, read about it in print with SI.
Subscription rates are quite reasonable and a big
savings as opposed to buying off the rack, even if you
DON'T read every single issue that comes out.

5 out of 5:
excellent writing
sports fan, January 12, 2005
SI is a classic of American Journalism and sports
writing. The writing is top notch, provocative,
informative, opinionated, and always worth reading. It
does show an east coast bias. But its always worth
reading. |

out of 5: The #1 Sports Magazine
George Fisher, June 10, 2004
Sports Illustrated remains the best sports magazine on
the market today. I have been a subscriber off and on
since I was a kid, and have been a current subscriber
for three years.
Sports Illustrated has excellent feature stories and
profiles of teams and athletes. They do a superb job of
covering the major sporting events and major sports. It
also keeps the reader abreast of developments in a large
numbers of sports. And it frequently has longer features
that focus on everything from sports history, important
current sports issues (such as steroid use), and
profiles of more obscure sports.
If you are going to subscribe to a sports magazine, this
is the one to go with. |

5 out of 5: The winner and still champion
gb "the_bassist", October 23, 2004
SI has been around for fifty years and has only gotten
better with age. The writing is still top notch and the
pictures are breathtaking. Quite simply SI is journalism
at its finest. |

out of 5: The Best Sports Magazine in the
World
Aaron Katon, September 18, 2004
Sports Illustrated is pretty simple. It's a weekly
magazine that covers the biggest events in sports. They
recap highlights from the previous week and they preview
things that are coming up. They really only do the big
four sports in the U.S.A., but if something is drawing
HEADLINES they will tell you. They have always been
great about doing that. They don't mention a lot about
smaller sports unless its during something like the
Olympics.
The pictures are great in Sports Ill. I'm not sure if
all of there pictures come from there Photographers, but
they have the best shots out there. You can be
guaranteed to get the best photos from the biggest
events with Sports Ill.
One of the best reasons to get Sports Ill is because of
Rick Reily. His column is on the last page of every
issue and is one of the best weekly columns in the
world. His column is ever changing because he writes
about everything. He writes with a lot of passion and
emotion. He is simply fantastic as are almost all of the
writers that write for Sports Ill.
If you love sports and want to read about them weekly
then you must pick this up. There has been a
subscription for more than 15 years between me and my
father and we absolutely love it. No other weekly
magazine comes close to offering you what Sports
Illustrated does. If your a big sports fan subscribe to
this now, you will not regret it. |
